If you are looking for entertainment on the Saint Paul campus, drop by the St. Paul Student Center! From concerts to movies to art exhibits, there is always something fun going on!
Gopher Spot
The Gopher Spot is a combined bowling alley, billiards room, video arcade, snack bar, and convenience store. It is located in the lower level of the St. Paul Student Center. The Gopher Spot bowling alley features eight lanes with automatic scoring, affordable rates, and party packages. The billiards area has two full sized pool tables that are rented by the minute. In the video arcade you will find a variety of entertaining video games.
If you are hungry, the snack bar offers pizza, nachos, pretzels, and more. To top it off the convenience store has everything from your morning coffee and a donut to a bottle of soymilk and a vegetarian sandwich.
Larson Art Gallery
Paul Larson was the director of the SPSC from its conception in 1959 until 1979. In 1980, the Larson Art Gallery was named in his honor because of his dedication to fostering an appreciation for art and music within the University community. The 520-square-foot Larson Art Gallery is located on the Lower Level of the St. Paul Student Center. The art gallery features nine new exhibits every year.
St. Paul Student Center Theater
The SPSC Theater is on the lower level of the St Paul Student Center. It has 327 seats and 4 wheelchair spaces. Its stage has been host to films, theatrical performances, dance recitals, panel discussions, lectures and much more. The theater regularly features movies on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. You can check which movies are playing currently on the events calendar.
Terrace and Terrace Café
The Terrace at the St. Paul Student Center is ideal for outdoor relaxation. Tables and benches are available for students to chill out or study. It also hosts noon concerts presented by the Minnesota Programs and Activities Council. During the cooler months, the noon concerts are held inside at the Terrace Café.
North Star Ballroom
From career fairs to concerts and other live performances, the North Star Ballroom hosts a variety of events. Over the years quite a few popular bands have rocked the North Star Ballroom, including:
