SunBowl was started in 1980 by then Gameroom Manager Wade Dickey. Each year hundreds of students, staff and faculty at the University of Minnesota participate in this historic event.

SunBowl Information

Tournament Entry

The $10 entry fee entitles each participant to:

  • 3 Games of No-Tap bowling and shoe rental, if needed.
  • Entry in the drawings for the Grand Prizes - these are awarded regardless of score!
  • 1st - 20th place prizes and t-shirts, based on highest overall final scores with handicap.
  • Great door prizes for those who attend the Awards Ceremony.

There is a maximum of 5 tournament entries per person.

Two Grand Prizes

1st Prize: $1000 Visa Gift Card

(to be used for travel or anything else you choose)

2nd Prize: $500 Visa Gift Card

(to be used for travel or anything else you choose)
  • Grand Prize winners will also receive a 2009 SunBowl T-shirt
  • Grand Prizes are awarded by drawings from all entries. Each SunBowl entry receives a Grand Prize drawing ticket; however there is a maximum of 5 entries per person.
  • Need not be present at drawing to win!

Gameroom Year Pass (valid 1 year from date of issue)

Gameroom Semester Pass (good through Sept. 4, 2009)
6th:
$50 Target Gift Card
7th:
$40 Target Gift Card
8th:
Custom Fit Bowling Shoes (from Lowry Central Bowlers Supply)
9th:
Gopher Spirit Care Package (donated by Gopher Express)
10th:
Lunch for Two at Campus Club (donated by Campus Club)

1st through 20th place will receive 2009 SunBowl T-Shirts.

Stipulations

  • Need not be present at awards ceremony to win.
  • Tournament entrants are eligible for only one prize and one t-shirt. If an individual has more than one qualifying score, the prize awarded will be for their highest score or greatest value prize. Manager’s decision will be final.
  • In the event of duplicate scores, drawings will be conducted among those tied to determine final prize standings.
